Sometimes the greatest distance, is not across the seas.
It’s not miles and miles apart, with obstacles in between.
Sometimes the greatest distance is across an empty room,
When the words are left unspoken and hearts are not in tune.
When the longing for your comfort meets with emptiness.
When it seems too much to ask for a simple sweet caress.
When the lights go out one more time, and things are still the same.
When we’re close enough to touch, and you can not feel my pain.
Sometimes the greatest distance seems impossible to cross,
Until loneliness erodes your hope and a wilted love is lost.
Yet move in my direction with intent and tenderness,
And ignite hope with that tiny spark; Love will do the rest.
